Come and party with Synth Commune at Robo Agogo where music from Singapore's 60s, 70s, 80s era come alive in a whole new Electronica format!

2nd hand Synth Bazaar, Live synthesizers and retro DJ party is the name of the game for the second family-friendly event organised by the geeks at Synth Commune Singapore, all with one theme in mind.

The swinging 60s and hippie 70s gave the world some of its most iconic music. It was also the golden era of original pop and rock in Singapore with bands like the Crescendos and The Quests outselling the Beatles! Now, the synth community of the island would like to throw a fitting party in tribute to these times, but with their own twist.

Artist/poet, Irving Paul Pereira will mangle some of Singapore’s best loved tunes through his modular systems while dance maestros, Falling Islands and Abyss Simian (Ben Ang/Cosmic Armchair), put their own spin on what might get modern robots to do the Agogo. Karsten revives the 1970s Berlin school of electronica of his native land, channelling Kraftwerk and subtle oscillations.

Meanwhile, the era was also famous for sonic experiments using electronic instruments… so like Yin and Yang, Yingyi.F. aims to charm with her minimal brand of digital landscapes while noise icon, Brian O’Reilly will attempt to break the speakers with his uncompromising sonic adventures.

In between all these is the dance and ambient sensibilities of Polish electronic wizard, Peter Waszecki, who will fill the room with beats and glitches.

Visual artists, Ambiatry and One White Raven add to the colours by supporting with video art and visual manipulation.

The second hand synth bazaar will run in the outdoor areas from 4 – 7pm before our musicians take the stage inside from 7 – 10 pm. The DJ set runs from 10 pm – 12 midnight.

Located just 5-7 mins stroll from Lavender MRT station, the location also boosts of a lush green landscape that is perfect for kids and families looking for a leisurely get together. Parking is available via public street lots as well as at the Kallang Riverside Condominium complex.
